Lea Greenberg earned her PhD from the Carolina-Duke Graduate Program in German Studies (UNC-Chapel Hill/Duke University), focusing on German Jewish and Yiddish literature. Before entering the field of publishing, she taught at Knox College (Illinois). She is an experienced editor, translator, and researcher; she has been working with AUP since 2022 and is also the editorial associate of the Lise Meitner Group at the Bibliotheca Hertziana – Max Planck Institute for Art History. As a commissioning editor, she welcomes proposals from a wide range of disciplines in the humanities and social sciences, including literature, Jewish studies and religious studies more broadly, gender studies, Eastern European history, art history, and linguistics.
