AUP Supports Ukrainian Academic Publishing with TSNUK Partnership
The Coordination Center for Publishing and Printing of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (TSNUK) and Amsterdam University Press (AUP) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize their collaboration in academic publishing. This partnership aims to foster the exchange of best practices in editorial management, Open Access (OA), research dissemination, and scholarly cooperation between the two bodies.
Under this agreement, and through the SUPRR initiative at AUP, both parties will work together on initiatives such as organizing joint publishing workshops, developing editorial training programs, and collaborating on the promotion of Open Science principles. This partnership will also focus on raising standards of academic integrity and establishing publication ethics, addressing key challenges such as predatory publishing.
Vice-rector for science at TSNUK, Prof. Ganna Tolstanova emphasized that “this strategic partnership with Amsterdam University Press will significantly enhance the global visibility of our research, promote the integration of Ukrainian scholarship into the international academic community, set a new benchmark for excellence in academic publishing and Open Access practices at our university, as well as establishing a new university press.”
Prof. Ganna Kharlamova, Chair of the Coordination Center, expressed her enthusiasm for this collaboration: "This MoU represents an important step towards enhancing the quality and global reach of our university's academic publications."
Jan-Peter Wissink, Managing Director of AUP, highlighted the importance of supporting Ukrainian publishing: "Through our SUPRR Programme, we are committed to helping Ukraine's publishing community recover and thrive."
This agreement marks the beginning of what both bodies hope will be a long-term and fruitful partnership, contributing to the advancement of academic publishing standards in Ukraine and beyond.
