Jen McCall has over 30 years' experience working in scholarly publishing, at publishing houses including Cambridge University Press, Wiley, and Palgrave Macmillan. Jen commissions for both AUP and CEU Press.
As commissioning editor at AUP, she would welcome proposals for books and series in the philosophy of history and ethics; economic history, the history of science and technology, religious history and urban history. She would also be particularly interested in discussing projects related to migration history, the history of childhood/children, and food history.
As Acquisitions Editor for history and the interdisciplinary humanities at CEU Press, she would welcome proposals for books and series related to the modern (18th-20th century) history of Central and Eastern and Southeastern Europe. She has a particular interest in receiving proposals covering global and transnational history (including books for the Global Easts series from Jie-Hyun Lim), economic history, post-communist history, and (post) colonial history (including for the new series Imperialism and Colonialism in Central and Eastern Europe) .
She has a long-held interest in championing interdisciplinary research and is responsible for the following interdisciplinary book series: Memory, Heritage and Public History in Central and Eastern Europe; Critical Approaches to Southeast Europe; Anthropologies of Eurasia: Ethnographic Encounters of Social Change; Crisis, Conflict and Security in Central and Eastern Europe; Environmental History in Central and Eastern Europe; Perpetrators of Organized Violence: Eastern, Central and South-Eastern Europe.
