Join us for the launch of The History of Grammar in Foreign Language Teaching produced in collaboration with AUP and HoLLTnet, the AILA Research Network for History of Language Learning and Teaching.
This event will celebrate the publication of the first single-source reference (in English and French) that charts the evolving concept of grammar as it has been applied in foreign language teaching across the cultural and linguistic borders of Western Europe from its origins in Antiquity through the Middle Ages and Modern Europe to the present day.
Join the book’s editor, Simon Coffey, and four other contributors in conversation with guest moderator Richard Smith as we discuss the social, material and ideological factors that have shaped the development of 'grammar' in foreign language education. All welcome.
This event will take place via Zoom on Friday 2nd July 2021 15.00-16.30 (BST) / 16.00-17.30 (CEST).
Registration (free) is required. Register for this event here: https://zoom.us/meeting/register/tJIkcO-srD4vHdMm4e3KOtQH7r3UTJqyRIIs.
